CHL announces CHL on TSN digital streaming schedule:
The Canadian Hockey League announced the CHL ON TSN digital streaming schedule for the first half of the 2022-23 regular season, with games available via TSN.ca and the TSN App. Read more
OHL announces 2022-23 Officiating Team:
The OHL has announced its 2022-23 officiating team, consisting of 38 referees and 59 linespeople. Read more
Bulldogs’ Donovan signs with Senators:
Hamilton Bulldogs’ defenceman Jorian Donovan has signed a three-year entry-level NHL contract with the Ottawa Senators. Read more
Attack announce Barlow as captain:
The Owen Sound Attack named its leadership group on Tuesday afternoon, with top 2023 NHL Draft prospect Colby Barlow leading the Bears into the 2022-23 season wearing the ‘C’. Read more
Moore named Generals captain:
The Oshawa Generals have named overage defenceman Lleyton Moore captain ahead of their season-opener. Read more
Kyle Morey commits to Rangers:
The Kitchener Rangers announced that Kitchener-native Kyle Morey has signed an OHL Standard Player Agreement (SPA) and education package with the Rangers. Read more
Hayden Sabourin commits to Generals:
The Oshawa Generals announced that 17-year-old goaltender Hayden Sabourin has committed to the organization. Read more
Clattenburg and Moses commit to Greyhounds:
The Soo Greyhounds have received commitments from forwards Connor Clattenburg and Daylen Moses ahead of the start of the 2022-23 season.
Colts announce changes within Hockey Operations Staff:
The Barrie Colts are pleased to announce changes and additions in the Hockey Operations Department for the 2022-2023 OHL season. Read more
OHL mourns the loss of Ron Ringler:
The Ontario Hockey League and the entire Peterborough Petes organization is saddened to announce the passing of Ron Ringler, the team’s Northern Ontario Scout. Read more
OHL saddened by the loss of Andre Payette:
The Ontario Hockey League is saddened by news of the loss of former Soo Greyhounds and Kingston Frontenacs forward Andre Payette who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 46. Payette played alongside current NHL forward Joe Thornton during his time in Sault Ste. Marie, playing four OHL seasons from 1993-97. He was a 10th round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers before playing a lengthy professional career.
COMMUNITY CORNER:
Busy Friday night on National Truth & Reconciliation Day:
There are seven games on the Friday night OHL schedule, and OHL clubs will be pausing to recognize National Truth & Reconciliation Day in buildings across the League. The OHL has partnered with Their Opportunity to highlight the work of Graham McWaters and the Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive that has been collecting and distributing hockey gear for Indigenous youth in Ontario.
Rangers set to celebrate 60 years, support National Truth & Reconciliation Day on opening night:
The Kitchener Rangers will be handing out a special 2022-2023 calendar giveaway, celebrating 60 years of Rangers hockey to the first 5,000 fans in attendance at Friday night’s home opener against the Sting. The Rangers are also partnering with Anishnabeg Outreach to, asking fans to bring non-perishable food items and hygiene products to donate at Friday’s game in support of Indigenous families. Colts set to honour the late Dale Hawerchuk:
The Barrie Colts will be honouring former Head Coach, Dale Hawerchuk at home on Saturday, October 8th. There will be a special pre-game ceremony honouring Dale, as well as guest speakers, video presentations, and a special presentation revealing an honourary Dale Hawerchuk banner.
