Abbotsford Canucks sign Layton Ahac

The Abbotsford Canucks announced they have signed defenseman Layton Ahac to a one-year AHL contract.

Originally a third round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019, Ahac has played parts of five seasons with the Henderson Silver Knights, recording one goal and 17 points in 148 total games.

Ahac joined the Silver Knights after two successful seasons at Ohio State University where he had 12 points in 63 games.

The 23-year-old was a BCHL Second Team All-Star and won the Championship with the Prince George Spruce Kings in 2018-19.

The North Vancouver, BC, native is strong defensively and took on more responsibility with Henderson last season. He has to opportunity to play in his home Province and looks to help Abbotsford return to the Calder Cup Playoffs.
