PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – Elmira College men’s hockey began its final weekend of the regular season on Friday evening when they hosted thirteenth-ranked Skidmore. After going down a goal in the first period, Elmira tied the game thanks to a Stephan McDonald ’27 goal. However, EC let two more in and fell by a final of 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Thoroughbreds broke through in the first, thanks to a Jaden York unassisted goal at the 8:28 mark.
- Elmira tied the game at the 14:24 mark of the second period when McDonald beat the goaltender for his second goal of the season. Cole Tucker ’25 and Tyler Schwindt ’26 picked up assists on the goal.
- The second period ended, and the game remained tied at one. Elmira kept the Thoroughbreds out of the back of the net for the first 12 minutes of action in the third before Skidmore netted a goal to go ahead on the power play at the 12:58 mark.
- Elmira battled to tie the game again, but Skidmore sealed the victory thanks to an open net goal with 21 seconds left, giving the visitors a 3-1 lead, which they held onto.
- Kyle Curtin ’26 got the start between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles, stopping 27 shots while playing 59 minutes in the match.
- Nicholas Domitrovic ’24 led the Soaring Eagles with seven shots in the game.
