Sharks Upset Sabres, Nathan MacKinnon Snaps Goal Drought in Saturday Best Bets

by admin

Saturday is the best night of the week for NHL hockey and lucky for you, we’ve come up with some of our favourite picks on the day for our Best Bets. We are coming off a rough Friday night but we did hit on the Jets and Penguins under in goals which we can build on Saturday.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Nathan MacKinnon anytime goal (+135)

There’s certainly players you can rely on and Nathan MacKinnon is one of the best players on the planet. The league’s leading scorer has dished the puck around more than ever with 27 assists in 20 games this season. He’s not found the back of the net as much as he’s wanted to with just seven goals during that span.

The Cole Harbour native currently rides a five-game goal drought and should snap it against the Panthers. The defending Stanley Cup Champs started the year on the right foot but have since lost their way with four losses in their last five games. This is largely due to their troubles on defence with 19 goals allowed in their four losses

Bet: Canadiens ML (+140) Golden Knights Canadiens Under 6.5 goals (-120)

The Habs have only managed to win games when playing at home with a 5-4-1 record and will play a Golden Knights team very dependent on home wins with a 22-21-8 road record since last season.

Montreal will also be starting Sam Montembeault, who has allowed just three goals over his last four starts with two shutouts. He is coming off an impressive 30-save performance against the defending Western Conference Champion Edmonton Oilers and allowed no goals against their superstars.

Montembeault should be able to handle the Golden Knights and hold them to a low total as the Habs shock the public that has 87 per cent of the moneyline bets on Vegas.

Bet: Sharks ML (+135)

The Sabres battled back against very tough odds to come back after being down 2-0 at the end of the first period in their Friday night matchup versus the Ducks. They will look to win their second straight road game when they travel a couple hours to San Jose to take on the Sharks.

It’s very challenging to win both games of a road back-to-back and many people may not know but San Jose is one of the best betting teams in the sport. They have a 14-8 record against the spread this season and have won four of their last seven matchups at home against the Sabres.

San Jose’s first overall pick Macklin Celebrini should have a solid opportunity to stay hot as he’s recorded a goal and two assists for three points in as many games.
