Xander Velliaris Commits to Frontenacs – Ontario Hockey League

Kingston, Ontario – The Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club is happy to announce the signing of defenseman Xander Velliaris to a Standard Player Agreement. Velliaris was selected in the third round, 45th overall by Kingston during the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.

“Xander is a big, mobile defenseman who took major strides over the past season.” said GM Kory Cooper. “He has tremendous upside in his abilities, and we are looking forward to continuing his development as a player.”

Xander spent the 2022-23 season playing for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the GTHL. In 36 games, the 6-foot-3, 185lbs. Toronto, Ont. native recorded four goals and three assists. He was able to play an effective defensive game without taking penalties, recording just two penalty minutes in the regular season. His season ended on a high note when his Toronto Jr. Canadiens won the OHL Cup with a perfect 7-0 record. Xander had two assists with a +8 rating, skating in all seven games at the tournament.

“It’s an unbelievable moment and it is a dream come true for me and my family.” said Velliaris. “I’m absolutely honored to be joining such a prestigious organization such as Kingston.”
