Montreal Canadiens Loan Alex Barré-Boulet To Laval Rocket

by admin

Forward Alex Barré-Boulet has cleared waivers and has been loaned to the Montreal Canadiens AHL affiliate Laval Rocket.

The 27-year-old signed a one-year contract worth $775,000 with the Canadiens in July.

The Montmagny, QC, native split last season between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Syracuse Crunch, registering nine points in 36 NHL games and 19 in 23 AHL games.

Barré-Boulet has been an extremely impactful player during his time in the AHL. He won the Red Garrett Memorial Award as Rookie of The Year and led the league in goals in 2019. He is a two-time All-Star Game participant and has been named to the AHL First and Second All-Star Teams.

In 294 career AHL games Barré-Boulet has 113 goals and 302 points. He also posted 22 points in 22 Calder Cup playoff games.

An extremely crafty offensive player, Barré-Boulet should play top line minutes in Laval and it won’t be surprising if he plays regular NHL games for Montreal at some point this season.
