Glasgow Clan could never have imagined marking their 10th anniversary by not playing at all, but that looks like becoming reality. Formed in 2010, Clan have become the fastest growing sports club in Scotland, growing from the ground up to attracting regular 3,000+ crowds at Braehead Arena.

Chief operating officer Gareth Chalmers said: “It was a stable club when I arrived in 2013. Every single season from year one, we have gone from strength to strength. We always move forward, even if the results on the ice don’t always reflect that.”

There is a nice feature on the club on BBC Sport here.

Update on possible return

Elite League chairman Tony Smith is still pressing for news on the Government funding promised to the league, as well as the stipulations required for its return.

He told the Sheffield Star: “One of the key points to the starting of the league is to get the testing right, this is elite ice hockey and it has to be the full protocol of testing like we see in the Premier League (football).

“This lateral flow test (which can provide results in as little as 30 minutes) isn’t good enough – we have already bounced that out, it will be the full test and it could be two or three times a week. That all has to be costed in, with a six, eight or ten week season. But we have to get testing right.”

Bet365 is one of the best and well-known websites for online betting in the world. The company is UK based but has managed to service almost every person regardless of their location. This website allows the user to engage in different sports. The good thing about it is that you get to enjoy almost every major sports event in the world. Nevertheless, some countries do not allow for online betting activities, which hinders some users from visiting the website. Fortunately, using a VPN Bet365 has changed the whole situation, and users can now access the website without trouble.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Steelers and neighbours Sheffield Steeldogs are leading the push for a return in both the EIHL and NIHL. The NIHL are having separate talks with the Government about a possible restart, and there have been some behind closed doors games played by teams at that level.

Belfast Giants are said to be “very impressed” by proposals outlined for the re-development of Dundonald Ice Bowl, which could include a new Olympic-sized rink, ten-pin bowling alley, cafe, healthcare centre and gym, reports the Belfast News Letter.
