Kingston, Ontario – Kingston Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper announced Saturday (September 2, 2022) that the hockey club has signed 2022 fourth-round pick Vann Williamson to a Standard Player Agreement.

“We are excited to have Vann Williamson committed to our hockey club,” said Cooper. “Vann impressed us during Training Camp and we believe he has the foundational tools to develop into a quality defenceman at the Ontario Hockey League level. Vann is a mobile defenceman with good size and the ability to move the puck. Our staff looks forward to working with Vann and providing him with an opportunity to succeed.”

Williamson, 16, played for the Ajax Pickering Raiders U16 AAA team during the 2021-22 season. In 25 games, the 6’0″, right-shot defenceman scored 3 goals and added 13 assists for 16 points. The Ajax, Ontario native collected 3 points (2 goals and 1 assist) in 6 playoff games in 2021-22.

Vann will remain in Kingston and join his teammates as they compete in preseason action starting tomorrow. The Kingston Frontenacs host the Ottawa 67’s at Leon’s Centre on Sunday, September 4th at 2:00pm.
