MISSISSAUGA, ON – The Steelheads are happy to receive a commitment from defenceman Liam Spencer. The London native was selected in the fourth round (#76 overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection this past April.
The 6-foot-3, 191 lb defenceman has played three games with the Steelheads this season, with his first game coming in his hometown on October 14 versus the London Knights. Spencer has played most of the season with the U18 AAA Elgin Middlesex Chiefs, where he has registered nine points (1G, 8A) in 14 games played.
Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond commented on the Spencer signing. “[He’s a] big, strong and mean defender. We can’t wait to see Liam on the blue and white blueline.”
