For the first time in his career, center Brock Nelson has been chosen to represent the New York Islanders at the 2023 NHL All-Star weekend.
The 30th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft has been enjoying a career-year for the Isles. He’s certainly making a strong case as one of the more underrated players in hockey today.
Nelson has recorded a point in all but ten games this season. He currently leads the team with 15 goals, five of which have been game-winners, across 39 games.
Nelson’s 23 assists and 38 points rank second on the team, only behind Matthew Barzal. He’s well on his way to topping his career-highs in all three marks.
The 31-year old joins Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Jack Hughes, Igor Shesterkin, Andrei Svechnikov, Johnny Gaudreau, and Kevin Hayes on the initial roster for the Metropolitan Division.
