Kingston Frontenacs forward Linus Hemstrom has been included on Sweden’s entry for the 2023 World Junior Summer Showcase set to be held from July 27 to August 4 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

A 19-year-old from Gavle, Sweden, Hemstrom recorded 12 goals, 28 assists and 40 points in 68 games last season, his first in the OHL. He was Kingston’s second round (107th overall) pick in the 2022 CHL Import Draft. He’s previously represented Sweden internationally at the 2022 World Under-18 Hockey Championship.

Hemstrom was part of a roster consisting of 25 players that will compete in the annual showcase that also includes the United States and Finland.  The Showcase will serve as an evaluation for players seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship which begins on December 26, 2023, through Jan. 5, 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
