Matthew Mayich commits to 67’s – Ontario Hockey League

 

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa 67’s announced Friday morning that defenceman Matthew Mayich has committed to the team.

Selected in the fourth round (74^th overall) by the Barber Poles in the in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Mayich is bringing a great deal of leadership to Ottawa.

“To have the type of poise that he plays with at such a young age is very valuable,” said Jan Egert, 67’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting. “He doesn’t get too high; he doesn’t get too low. He’s just poised in everything he does.”

The six-foot, 150 pound left handed defenceman collected 7 goals and 19 assists (26 pts) in 33 games in the 2019-2020 regular season with the Hamilton Huskies, before putting up one goal and 7 assists for 8 points in 15 playoff games.
