Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa 67’s announced Friday morning that defenceman Matthew Mayich has committed to the team.

Selected in the fourth round (74th overall) by the Barber Poles in the in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Mayich is bringing a great deal of leadership to Ottawa.

“To have the type of poise that he plays with at such a young age is very valuable,” said Jan Egert, 67’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting. “He doesn’t get too high; he doesn’t get too low. He’s just poised in everything he does.”

The six-foot, 150 pound left handed defenceman collected 7 goals and 19 assists (26 pts) in 33 games in the 2019-2020 regular season with the Hamilton Huskies, before putting up one goal and 7 assists for 8 points in 15 playoff games.
