Sabres Have One More Big Trade to Make

by admin

The Buffalo Sabres have had a very busy offseason. After missing the playoffs for the 13th year in a row, Sabres GM Kevyn Adams made several additions to the club’s roster. Ryan McLeod, Jason Zucker, Sam Lafferty, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, James Reimer, and Beck Malenstyn make up the Sabres’ most notable summer newcomers.

While the Sabres have made some nice additions to their roster, they should not be done yet. When looking at their current roster, it is apparent that they still could use one more proven top-six winger, especially given their playoff aspirations.

It has been confirmed that the Sabres have looked to acquire at least one top-six winger. NHL insider Frank Seravalli recently reported that the Sabres were close to acquiring Martin Necas, but the skilled winger was unwilling to sign a deal with Buffalo.

While the Sabres struck out on Necas, the trade market still has some solid potential names available. A few trade candidates who could be intriguing targets for the Sabres include Joel Farabee, Patrik Laine, Trevor Zegras, and Frank Vatrano.

With it now being this late into the summer, trades are a bit more challenging to complete. If the Sabres cannot land a top-six winger before the start of the season, it would not be shocking if they worked hard to acquire one during the 2024-25 season.
