The 39-year-old spent his one and only season with the Kraken during the 2023-24 campaign which saw him play 40 games and register four goals and seven points.
Playing on the Kraken’s fourth line, Bellemare won 53.5% of his faceoffs and when in the lineup, played a part in the Kraken’s 20th ranked penalty kill.

The Le Blanc-Mesnil, France native has played with the Avalanche before. He spent two consecutive seasons with the franchise in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Unluckily for Bellemare, he left the Avalanche to sign with the Tampa Bay Lightning the year the Avalanche beat the Lightning in the Stanley Cup finals.
He was also part of the Vegas Golden Knights roster that lost in the finals to the Washington Capitals in the 2017-18 season. Re-joining the Avalanche gives Bellemare another opportunity to chase a Stanley Cup ring.

His age and the fact that he needs to sign a professional try-out to receive a contract is an unfortunate indication that despite how hard he works and how beloved of a teammate he is, that his time in the NHL is beginning to run low.
He recently served as the captain of France at the 2026 Olympic qualifiers but France was unable to qualify. They do however have the chance to secure a spot if Russia is banned from participating.
