The Philadelphia Flyers are on the road again for their penultimate preseason game against the Boston Bruins, fielding a strong roster full of NHL regulars that will go up against a similarly stacked opposition.
The projected top-six forwards and top four defensemen for this season will be traveling up to Boston, which will allow fans to get a glimpse at their game readiness as training camp wraps up. Viewers will also get to see more ice time from Jett Luchanko, whose performance in camp has sparked a debate over whether or not he should make the NHL roster straight out of camp.
The Big Guns
The Flyers will be sending out a good portion of their projected NHL roster against the Bruins, which will be an exciting thing to watch after previous rosters have seen a healthy mix of veterans and young players looking to break into the team.
They will also be facing an equally strong Bruins roster, which will undoubtedly be an exciting thing to see and will be the closest thing to a real NHL-caliber game that fans will have seen all preseason.

Because their last game of preseason is slated against a severely depleted New Jersey Devils (their main roster is in Europe for the NHL Global Series), this game will be the real “dress rehearsal” for how game-ready this team is.
Dynamic Duo
It’s looking likely that Matvei Michkov and Morgan Frost will be put back on a line together against the Bruins, which could very well end up being the line the Flyers stick with in the regular season.
It’s not hard to see why—they’ve already proven to have strong chemistry, and their combined creativity and ability to read the game worked wonders when they played together against the Islanders at the Wells Fargo Center on Sept. 26.
Morgan Frost just scored a great goal in this scrimmage. He’s been on a line with Matvei Michkov, and the two have looked really promising together. The Flyers would definitely be wise to keep them together to see where it goes. #LetsGoFlyers

It’s entirely possible that Michkov could shuttle between being on lines with Frost and Owen Tippett, and Travis Konecny and Sean Couturier to see which one would truly be the best fit for him, but as of right now, the Michkov-Frost connection could turn into something special.
Last Looks For Jett?
It’s still not entirely clear whether or not Luchanko will make the NHL roster, but he certainly is at least in very serious consideration. It’s clear that the coaches have been thoroughly impressed with his playing, but are still very aware of the fact that he’s freshly 18 and immediately throwing him into the NHL might not be the best avenue for his development.
Wherever he goes for the 2024-25 season, Luchanko has proved exactly why the Flyers were gunning for him at this year’s draft, and catapulted himself into being one of the most exciting young names fans will need to keep an eye on. The future is certainly bright for the Flyers, and Luchanko is one of its strongest stars.
