The start of the 2024-25 Vancouver Canucks season is officially only one day away. In preparation for the beginning of the season, the Canucks, as well as the other 31 NHL teams, have submitted their opening night lineups, which has led to plenty of discussion and debate amongst the hockey world. With this in mind, here is how Vancouver measures up (literally) to the other 31 NHL teams.

Starting weight height, the Canucks rank enter the season with an average of 6’1″. That is tied with 19 other teams, including the Florida Panthers, Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. As for individuals, Tyler Myers is tied with Adam Klapka as the tallest player in the NHL at 6″8″, while at 5’9″, Nils Höglander is in a grouping of the second shortest players, which includes Yanni Gourde, Brad Marchand and Brendan Gallagher.

Moving on to weight, Vancouver comes in at 195 lbs, which makes them the second-lightest team in the league. The only team lighter is the Colorado Avalanche, which is listed at 192 lbs. As with height, Myers leads the way on the team at 229 lbs, while Conor Garland is the lightest at 165 lbs.

The oldest player is Myers, who will turn 35 in February, while the youngest player is Aatu Räty, who was born in 2002.
