Vegas Golden Knights Claim Raphael Lavoie Off Waivers For The Second Time

by admin

The Vegas Golden Knights have claimed forward Raphael Lavoie off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers for the second time in five days.

No other team placed a waiver claim on the 24-year-old so the Golden Knights assigned him to their AHL affiliate Henderson Silver Knights.

This is the second time this week that Vegas has placed a claim on Lavoie. Neither the Golden Knights or Oilers could assign him to the AHL due to multiple teams having also placed claims.

A second round selection of the Oilers in 2019, Lavoie went pointless in seven NHL games and recorded 28 goals and 50 points in 66 AHL games last season. He also competed in the AHL All-Star Game.

He will be a restricted free agent at the end of this season.

Lavoie has been a good offensive player in his time in the AHL, recording 131 points in 202 career games.

He should help out a Henderson team that was third last in the AHL in goals scored last season.
