Ty Dellandrea Scores Against Former Team; Stars Beat Sharks 3-2 In Shootout

Wyatt Johnston scored the shootout-winning goal to help the Dallas Stars defeat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 in a shootout on Tuesday.

Matt Duchene and Roope Hintz scored for the Stars (4-0-0). Logan Stankoven earned an assist to give him five for the season, which leads the team.

Jake Oettinger made 25 saves.

Tyler Toffoli and Ty Dellandrea scored for the Sharks (0-1-2). Dellandrea’s goal was his first with the Sharks after being acquired from the Stars on June 19. William Eklund skated in his 100th career game.

Mackenzie Blackwood made 36 saves.

Johnston beat Blackwood glove side in the shootout deciding goal.

Tyler Toffoli gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead at 6:24 of the second period. The winger beat the goalie glove side for his second goal of the season.

Matt Duchene tied the game at one at 12:03 in the second period with his first goal of the season. Duchene tapped a Mason Marchment pass in at the side of the net.

Ty Dellandrea put the Sharks up 2-1 at 15:12 of the second period. Nico Sturm poked a puck in front of the net that Dellandrea flipped over the goalie.

Roope Hintz tied the game at two at 17:12 of the second period with a slap shot over the glove.
