Vancouver Canucks Recall Max Sasson, Send Jonathan Lekkerimaki To Abbotsford

by admin

The Vancouver Canucks announced they have recalled forward Max Sasson and assigned forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki to their AHL affiliate Abbotsford Canucks.

Lekkerimaki has played in five games for Vancouver and notched his first career NHL goal. He has five goals and seven points in seven games with the Abbotsford Canucks.

Sasson has four goals and nine points in 16 games with Abbotsford this season.

The 24-year-old joined the Canucks in 2023 after wrapping up his sophomore season at Western Michigan University. He signed a two-year deal worth $870,000 annually that runs through the 2024-25 season.

The Birmingham, MI., native recorded 42 points in 56 games with Abbotsford in his first professional season last year.

With Vancouver set to embark on a six-game road trip and J.T. Miller on an indefinite leave of absence there is a good chance Sasson will make his NHL debut in the next few days.
