Over the past 72 hours, Paul Bissonnette – if he hadn’t already – ascended into legendary status.
Suffice it is to say, the Wednesday edition of Leafs Morning Take had a Spittin’ Chiclets theme to it.
We kicked off the show by addressing the mug shots of the six pigeons who jumped Biz Nasty in Arizona. Impressively, judging by their photos, the former NHL enforcer managed to hold his own —and then some. We’re just happy Biz avoided serious injury. That’s a tough situation. He’s such a beauty.
At any rate, we previewed the big showdown with the Florida Panthers. Currently, the Leafs are three points up on the Cats with one game in hand. Yup, this one’s a big one. Most importantly, Anthony Stolarz, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Steven Lorentz, who each received their Stanley Cup rings prior to the morning skate, are making their triumphant returns to Sunrise. Meantime, Auston Matthews, who did take part in the morning skate, will not play. It sounds like Saturday night in Tampa is a real possibility, though.
Then, brought to you by Charm Diamond Centres, Mike Grinnell of Spittin’ Chiclets made his first ever appearance on the show. He was great. Firstly, he gave his thoughts on Paul Bissonnette’s restaurant brawl in Arizona. After that, he weighed in on the coaching change in Boston before we transitioned to some Leafs talk. In short, as much as it pained him to say it being a Bruins fan, he’s been really impressed by the Maple Leafs under Craig Berube. He’s curious to see how they look come playoff time.
Carter Hutton will be in for Jay Rosehill on the U.S. Thanksgiving edition of Leafs Morning Take. Join us at 11 AM ET for a full recap of Leafs/Panthers. Also, AEW’s Adam Copeland, who’s a WWE Hall of Famer, will join us to weigh in on his beloved Maple Leafs.
