Manley Ties Debut Game, Falcons Win Skills Contest

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles played to a 2-2 tie with the Albertus Magnus Falcons on Saturday evening. Goaltender Cameron Manley ’28 made his debut for the Soaring Eagles in net.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Cam Lowe ’28 opened the scoring with a five-on-three power-play goal in the first period, with Chance Gorman ’24 picking up the only assist.

The Falcons answered with a power-play goal of their own in the second period. Sam Anderson found the back of the net, bringing AMC even.

With the score tied at one heading into the third period,

The Falcons went ahead 2-1 in the third period by way of a Paden Hicks goal 9:14 into the frame.

With the Soaring Eagles back on the power play, Chance Gorman’s shot from the top of the circles wound up in the back of the net, tying the game at two with 5:05 to play in regulation. The score would hold before the Soaring Eagles would eventually fall in overtime but come away with a tie.

Manley was great in his first game for EC, stopping 28 of 30. Matt Lenz turned away 32 of 34 for the Falcons.

The Soaring Eagles will return to the ice on Friday, December 6 in Geneva, NY for a big weekend series with the Hobart Statesmen. Opening puck drop on Friday is slated for 7:00 PM.
