SALEM, MASS. – Gabby Dougherty ’26 netted her first collegiate goal, and Sara Sevcikova ’28 posted her first collegiate win and shutout for the Elmira College women’s ice hockey program as the Soaring Eagles recorded an 8-0 victory against Salem State University on Saturday in NEHC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It would be all Elmira from the opening puck drop as Bri Conger ’27 gave the Purple & Gold a 1-0 advantage 1:20 into the contest, with the assist coming from Mo McBride ’27.
- Anna Lugge ’27 added an unassisted tally at the 3:08 mark to make it 2-0, while Gaby Matson ’28 followed at the 3:33 mark to give Elmira a 3-0 lead.
- Elmira converted later in the period with a power-play goal from Dougherty to stake the Soaring Eagles out to a 4-0 advantage. Erika Goleniak ’25 closed the scoring in the frame with her first of two goals at the 14:40 mark to make it 5-0.
- Matson tallied her second goal of the contest at the 8:39 mark of the second period as it gave the Purple & Gold a 6-0 advantage.
- Elmira would notch two goals in the third period as Lugge potted her second of the night just 21 seconds into action, while Goleniak added her second goal with a power-play tally at the 10:18 mark.
- Sevcikova finished the contest with 11 saves between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles as she recorded her first win in her first start this season.
