They found it in them.
After a seemingly hopeless opening period, a fortunate bounce proved to be all the difference in the world for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who became the first team to erase a lead in the series in their opening-round clash with the Tampa Bay lighting after a 4-3 victory on home ice in Game 5.
John Tavares broke out offensively, scoring his first of the series to go along with a primary assist, while Auston Matthews scored the winner with under six minutes remaining in the game.
Jack Campbell made 32 saves for the win.
More to come.
