Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Norlinder’s contract was made possible in part thanks to money the team raised from supporters.

Having been in North America for parts of the past three seasons, Norlinder returns to the team where he played junior hockey with as well as pro.

Last season, as a member of the Rocket, Norlinder collected nine points in 50 regular season games.

When asked about the process of signing with MoDo, Norlinder said he was happy he stayed in Sweden.

“I initially had an ambition to continue playing in North America, but when it came down to it in the end, I preferred to stay here,” he said.

Although it remains to be seen whether he will make another attempt at an NHL career, Norlinder, in the mean time, will play an important role for MoDo when the puck drops on the start of their season.
