67’s sign first-round pick Kohyn EshkawkoganThe Ottawa 67’s announced, today, that 2024 21st overall draft pick defenceman Kohyn Eshkawkogan has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.
“Kohyn is an intelligent and efficient defender, with excellent skating ability,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “We are excited to welcome Kohyn and his family to the 67s, and look forward to supporting him on his hockey journey.”
A member of M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Eshkawkogan suited up in 76 games for the North York Rangers U16 AAA, last season, scoring 13 goals and 52 assists for 65 points. He also appeared in six games at the OHL Cup, posting a goal and six assists.
Last weekend, Eshkawkogan helped lead Team Ontario to a gold medal at the U18 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, where he took home Best Defenceman honours, while leading the tournament in points.
