MacPherson Signs For Fourth Straight Season With Beauts

by

BUFFALO – Buffalo Beauts veteran center Cassidy MacPherson has re-signed with the team to play a fourth straight season. The deal is a 1-year contract for the upcoming 2022-23 Premier Hockey Federation season.

The 24-year-old MacPherson was the Beauts’ recipient of the team’s 2022 Unsung Hero award, recognizing her for her value to the team beyond the level of public and/or statistical recognition that she has received. She primarily played on the team’s topmost forward line last season and has continued to be one of the best two-way forwards in the PHF.

“I wanted to return to the Beauts because there is truly no better community or fanbase than the Beauts organization and the City of Buffalo,” said MacPherson.

MacPherson was 1-7-8 for scoring in 20 regular-season games during the 2021-22 PHF season. Her 50 career regular-season games played in a Beauts uniform tie her for third-most in franchise history. MacPherson has totaled six goals, 14 assists, and 20 points during her three previous seasons for the team. She has not missed a game – regular season or playoffs – since making her professional debut in the 2019-20 season and is currently riding a 52-consecutive game streak for the Beauts.

“I have said it before and I’ll say it again – I feel that Cass MacPherson is the most underrated player in the PHF,” said Beauts GM Nate Oliver. “Consistency is key and Cass is about as consistent as they come. She is a tremendous two-way player, and she doesn’t get the league-wide recognition that she deserves. Cass is now the elder stateswoman on the team, and we wouldn’t want to pursue the Isobel Cup without her.

MacPherson’s 51 shots on goal were the second most for the Beauts during the 2021-22 regular season. Integral when it comes to puck possession, she led the Beauts with takeaways in 2021-22 as well – 18 of them in her 20 games played. Winning 212 of her 401 faceoffs, MacPherson led the Beauts in faceoff winning percentage with .529 percentage. Her 401 draws were the most among any players on the team too.

Heading into the 2022-23 PHF season, MacPherson has a chip on her shoulder when it comes to bringing a championship home to Buffalo:

“I want to win,” she said. “I’m sick of losing, and I know that we have so much potential to bring home the Isobel cup. I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens this year. ”
