Manchester Storm coach Ryan Finnerty believes re-signing Tyson Fawcett has the potential to be a big player in the Elite League.

The 27-year-old is coming back for the Elite Series and his return will delight the Storm fans as they get ready to enjoy some on the ice action.

His coach, Finnerty, was pleased to get him back and was a player who showed some hidden talents during the 2019-20 season.

“Fawcett was the surprise of the season,” he said. “His game continued to improve throughout the season and I think he can excel into a dominant player in the league. We are very happy to have him back in Storm colours ahead of the Elite Series.”

Fawcett made 60 appearances in all competitions for Storm, scoring 16 times and assisting with another 17 during his first campaign

His career before coming to Manchester saw him turn out for a number of ECHL clubs, including Brampton Beast, Jacksonville Icemen and Elmira Jackals.

Fawcett didn’t play anywhere else this season so will be keen to get up to speed when he returns later this month.

Storm take on Coventry Blaze in their first game of the Elite Series, taking place on Saturday 3rd April at Motorpoint Arena, where all games will be played behind closed doors.
