Owen Sound, ON – The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that Associate Coach Jordan Hill has stepped down from his role with the team for family reasons.

Hill, joined the Attack organization as an Assistant Coach prior to the 2017-18 season. Spending five season’s with Owen Sound, it was prior to the 2021-22 season that Hill was promoted to the Associate Coaches role, as he continued to develop his coaching skills. Hill has been able to learn from a trio of Attack coaches from his time in the organization, having spent time under Todd Gill, Alan Letang and current Head Coach Greg Walters.

“The circumstances that Jordan came into as a coach, and where he is at now it’s just remarkable,” Attack General Manager Dale DeGray said. “He’s grown so much, from coming in as a young fresh faced coach, he’s really worked hard and crafted his skills into what they are today.”

“It’s sad to see him go. He was a big part of our coaching room, and the dressing room for that matter,” DeGray offered. “He’ll be missed, and we wish all the best.”

Hill’s coaching trajectory has been well noticed by Hockey Canada, as he was invited to participate in the Under 17 Summer Development Camp last year, as a guest coach.

“I’d like to thank Dale DeGray and the entire Attack Ownership group for providing me the opportunity to help coach this team,” Hill said. ” The support I got from Dale, Dr. Bob Severs, Paul and Peter MacDermid, and the belief they showed in me allowed me the opportunity to grow as a coach.”

“It’s a tough time to step away obviously,” Hill continued. ” I know the state of the team and how close they are to winning. I’m definitely going to be looking forward to watching them from afar next season. as they compete for an OHL Championship. I’ve built some great relationships over the years with current and past players/coaches, and will continue to carry those memories as I move forward.”

“It’s hard,” said Hill. “But I believe it’s the right decision for myself and my family at the time to move on.”
