Nolan Seed has committed to the Carlton Ravens Men’s Hockey program for the 2023-24 season, marking the second of the Owen Sound Attack’s three overage players signing in a U SPORTS program as he joins Nick Chenard who committed to Dalhousie earlier in the spring.
Seed is leaving the Attack who drafted him 15th overall in 2018, spending all of his five year OHL career in the Scenic City, playing in 218 games for the Bears. Throughout his time in Owen Sound, Seed progressively improved his game each season at booth ends of the ice, capping off his tenure with a career year during the 2022-23 season. In his overage year Nolan hit career highs in goals (6), assists (27) and points (33) and was relied upon heavily throughout the year for his trusting two-way style of play.
“My past 5 years in Owen Sound was the best 5 years of my life,” said Seed. “So many amazing friendships and memories were made that I will never forget.”
It will be homecoming of sense for Seed, whose hometown of Newboro, Ont. is just an hour and half south of Ottawa. Nolan has not given up on his dream of playing professional hockey by joining the Ravens program, as much like his final couple seasons in Owen Sound he is going into the program full of optimism and joy.
“Super excited about the opportunity to join Carlton next year,” offered Seed. “It’s the perfect place for me to pursue a pro career and get a quality education at the same time.”
