Friday has just two matchups on the slate that should still satisfy your craving for some thrilling NHL action. The Winnipeg Jets travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins while the night caps off with the Ducks hosting the Sabres on the West Coast. We look to build off the Bruins win last night over the Utah Hockey Club and hit some clutch bets with our options limited on a small hockey slate.
All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.
Bet: Jets Penguins Under 6.5 goals (-120), Penguins ML (+150), Tristan Jarry Over 27.5 saves (-120)
These two normally play very tight game with fewer than six goals in six of their last seven matchups. The line for the total in goals is at such a high point due to the slow start from Pittsburgh’s Tristan Jarry.
The 29-year-old Surrey native was slated to one of the candidates to be a goaltender for Team Canada at the Four Nations tournament next year but has severely struggled to start the season with just one win and 4.72 goals against average through five starts.
He should find a his perfect bounce back opportunity in this spot as they are being counted out by many with 89 per cent of the moneyline bets and 78 of the puck line bets being place on the Jets.
Many don’t know who truly wild Jarry’s history is versus Winnipeg with a 5-1-0 record, a goals against average of 1.16 and a save percentage of .960 in six career matchups. He should finally get the game he needs to regain his confidence and help the Penguins get a much needed win.
Bet: Sabres Ducks Over 6.0 goals (-120), Troy Terry Over 0.5 points (-135), Ducks ML (+125)
The Ducks have shocked hockey fans as they’ve rattled off three straight wins over playoff teams like the Stars and Red Wings with one relatively easy matchup versus the Blackhawks. They return home to play a Sabres team that has regulation win over their last four games and have a 21-22-6 road record since last season.
One of the few road matchups they do like is Anaheim as they’ve topped the Ducks in five of their last seven trips to Ducktown. The public expect a close game with the Sabres receiving most of the bets on the moneyline but the Ducks taking the majority of bets on the puck line.
These two teams have split each of their last six matchups and have totalled six or more goals in four straight matchups and combined for an astounding 32 goals during that span. Ducks netminder Lukas Dostal has allowed four or more goals in three of his last five starts. If you feel uncomfortable with taking the Ducks, you can at least rely on this one being a high-scoring shootout with plenty of goals.
Anahiem lead-point man Troy Terry has six goals and assists for 12 points in 18 games this season and is always listed at favourable odds as he’s recorded just one point over their last four games. He should bounce back and have a big game Friday.
