The OHL is saddened by news of the loss of former NHL Executive Vice President Brian O’Neill, who passed away on Friday at the age of 94.
O’Neill was an impactful figure in the history and development of the National Hockey League, serving the NHL for more than 50 years. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1994.
A big supporter of the Canadian Hockey League, O’Neill served on the Memorial Cup site selection committee several times throughout his career.
The OHL extends condolences to Brian’s wife Jean, his children Sean, Darcy, Nancy, Patrick and Sandy along with their spouses and his 11 granchildren.
