The NHL playoff schedule is in full swing after North Division play got underway.

The Montreal Canadiens-Toronto Maple Leafs and the Winnipeg Jets-Edmonton Oilers series had to wait to begin until the final three games between the non-playoff Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks were played.

The Montreal-Toronto playoff meeting is their first in 42 years. The defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning are facing the Florida Panthers in the intrastate rivals’ first playoff meeting.

Teams are playing the first two rounds within their division, then the division winners will be seeded based on regular-season points for the semifinal. The winners will play for the Stanley Cup.
