The deal will see Portillo make $783,333 at the NHL level.
A product of Goteborg, Sweden, Portillo spent the entire 2023-24 season with the Ontario Reign where he posted a 24-11-3 record to go along with a 2.50 GAA and a .918 SV% in 39 appearances.
Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Portillo never signed with the team and was traded to the Kings in 2023.
Prior to joining the Reign, Portillo spent three seasons at the University of Michigan (NCAA) where he had a 60-22-3 record, a 2.49 GAA and a .918 SV% in 87 career appearances.
As Portillo extends with the Kings, he is clearly a valued member of their future plans. Portillo showed well in his first season with the Kings organization and could start to challenge for NHL looks as soon as this season.
