Canada has announced a 24-man lineup for the upcoming World Hockey Championship in Finland.
Canada is looking to win its second consecutive gold medal, beating Finland in the finale last year despite starting the tournament 0-3.
Highlighting the team are forwards Mat Barzal, Dylan Cozens, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Drake Batherson and Josh Anderson, defensemen Thomas Chabot and Ryan Graves and goaltenders Chris Driedger and Logan Thompson.
Barzal, Chabot, Dubois, Maxime Comtois and Damon Severson have all represnted Canada at the World Championship in the past.
Three members of Canada’s Olympic team â forwards Eric O’Dell and Kent Johnson and goaltender Matt Tomkins â will return to the national team for the event. Matt Ellis, who also made the Olympic roster, will join Canada for its exhibition game against the United States on May 11.
Canada has room for one more player to be added later in the tournament.
