Forwards Josh Dunne, Mason Jobst, and Brett Murray, defensemen Colton Poolman and Jack Rathbone, and goaltender Felix Sandstrom all cleared waivers on Wednesday and were assigned to the Sabres minor league affiliate.

Jobst led the Amerks in scoring last season with 50 points, and Murray, 26, has been in the Sabres organization since being selected in the fourth round in 2016. Dunne signed a two-year deal with Buffalo after spending the first four years of his professional career with the Columbus Blue Jackets, while Poolman and Rathbone inked one-year deals after playing with Calgary and Vancouver respectively.

Rochester will play an exhibition game in Syracuse on Sunday and opens their regular season a week from Friday at home against the Belleville Senators. Head coach Michael Leone will get a few more players from the parent club once they return from Czechia, as the Sabres will need to cut down to 23 players following the NHL GLobal Series against New Jersey in Prague on Friday and Saturday.
