Hockey season is officially back!

The NHL regular season kicked off on Friday when the Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils met in Prague, and the guys on The Hockey Show couldn’t have been happier.

Joining hosts Roy Bellamy and David Dwork this week was Jonny Lazarus from Daily Faceoff’s Daily Cuppa Hockey.

They discussed the ongoing situation in Boston between goaltender Jeremy Swayman and the Bruins, and how the team really appears to have bungled the whole thing, at least to this point.

Lazarus also discussed his NHL Awards predictions, such as Jack Hughes getting the Hart Trophy and Cutter Gauthier winning the Calder Trophy.

Roy and Dave also discuss some of the Florida Panthers rankings on NHL 25, which dropped on Friday, and some of the physical fireworks surrounding the team this week during their preseason games against Tampa Bay.

Speaking of fireworks, have you seen what Montreal’s Arber Xhekaj has been up to?

The show took a look at some of the hits and discussed whether Xhakej has been taking things a bit too far while seeking retribution.
