Dallas Stars Recall Kyle Capobianco

The Dallas Stars have recalled defenseman Kyle Capobianco from the Texas Stars, per the AHL’s transaction page.

The 27-year-old won the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL’s Best Defenseman last season after notching 12 goals and 54 points in 69 games with the Manitoba Moose. He also made the AHL’s First All-Star Team.

He has recorded three points in six games with AHL Texas this season.

The Mississauga, ON., native has 12 points in 73 career NHL games split between the Arizona Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets.

A third round pick of Arizona in 2015, Capobianco signed a two-year deal with the Stars this summer that pays him $775,000 at the NHL level and $475,000 in the minors. The first year of his contract is a two-way deal, the second year is one-way.

The Stars are set to arrive in Finland on Monday before playing a back-to-back against the Florida Panthers on Friday and Saturday as part of the Global Series Fan Tour.
