St. Louis Blues Player To Watch vs. Ottawa Senators: Jake Neighbours

by admin

Jake Neighbours felt the goals would come.

Even when the first round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft was held off the scoresheet the first four games of the season, the 22-year-old felt like the opportunities were there and it was just a matter of time.

Fast forward the ensuing five games and Neighbours is feeling it. And when THN spoke to Neighbours during training camp, he was wanting to build and hope for more success this season.

He’s put up four goals — and five points — in the past five games and will be relied on to continue the trend when the Blues (5-4-0) play the third of a four-game road trip against the Ottawa Senators (4-4-0) today at 6 p.m. (FDSNMW, ESPN 101.1-FM).

Neighbours has scored in each game of the trip thus far and done so in his differing fashions, one off the rush against the Toronto Maple Leafs and on Saturday in his usual spot: at the net front against the Montreal Canadiens.

Neighbours has done well against the Senators in his career, scoring three times in four career games and will be counted on for more of the same to try and help the Blues win their second of three games on the trip, which concludes Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
