The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket, the team announced Monday.
Roy, who has yet to see a game with the Canadiens this season, has scored eight goals and added eight assists for 16 points in 17 games with Laval – good for first on the team.
Drafted by the Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Roy made his NHL debut in 2023-24, appearing in 23 games with the Habs and putting up nine points.
Having turned pro last season, Roy has risen steadily since hearing his named called in 2021. As someone who can play up and down the lineup, Roy has proven his versatility in the past and should be able to lock up a role with Montreal by next season.
