The injury bug continues to rag doll the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Fortunately, though, the blue line and crease – to this point – have managed escape its wrath.
Carter Hutton filled in for Jay Rosehill on the Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take. It’s funny how things work out, but weirdly, it was only fitting to have a former NHL goalie with me to break down Charlie Lindgren’s gaff from Wednesday night. In case you missed it, the Capitals netminder shoveled the puck into his own net against Tampa. Obviously, Hutts broke it down for me. After that, we talked a bit about Anthony Stolarz, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Steven Lorentz receiving their Stanley Cup rings. Kudos to the Panthers for putting together a wonderful little ceremony.
After that, we dissected the 5-1 loss in Sunrise. Honestly, I didn’t think they played that bad, especially with the roster they dressed. But seriously, they’re dropping like flies. Bobby McMann was the latest forward to get banged up. He left in the second period and did not return with a lower body injury. Who’s left to call up? All in all, it wasn’t Stolarz’s best night, but when you score one goal, it’s going to be tough to win a hockey game. Personally, I thought it was a super tough night for Nick Robertson and Conor Timmins, too.
Then, brought to you by Charm Diamond Centres, All Elite Wrestling’s Adam Copeland dropped by for another chat. As many of you are well aware by now, the WWE Hall of Famer is a big-time Leafs fan. He dished on the latest hot button topics surrounding the team.
You don’t want to miss the Friday edition of Leafs Morning Take. For the third time ever, we’ll be offering up a Players Only edition of the show as Carter Hutton and Jay Rosehill get together to break down the very latest in Leafs Nation. They will preview Saturday night’s game in Tampa plus play another edition of Take It or Leaf it.
