Canada to play for Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold following win over Finland – Ontario Hockey League

Red Deer, Alta. – Calum Ritchie (Oshawa Generals) and Denver Barkey (London Knights) both scored goals as Canada is into the gold medal game of the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup following a 4-1 win over Finland.

Cam Allen (Guelph Storm) and Carson Rehkopf (Kitchener Rangers) both picked up assists in the win as Canada outshot Finland 27-24. Canada advances to play for gold at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup for the first time since 2019. They last reigned supreme at the tournament in 2018.

Ritchie enters the gold medal game as the. tournament’s leading scorer, recording three goals, six assists and nine points in four outings.

Canada will play the winner of a semi-final matchup between Sweden and Czechia on Saturday at 6:00pm ET.

Quentin Musty (Sudbury Wolves) recorded two assists while Carey Terrance (Erie Otters) had one of his own as the Americans solidified fifth place at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Musty led the U.S. squad with five points (1-4–5) in four games.
