SAGINAW, MICH. – The Saginaw Spirit are pleased to announce that forward Carson Harmer has been signed to an OHL Standard Player Agreement. The Spirit selected Harmer in the third round, 44th overall of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.
“As an organization we are pleased to announce the signing of Carson Harmer,” said Spirit GM Dave Drinkill. “Carson is a player we really targeted on draft day, and to now have him signed is an exciting day for the franchise. I want to officially welcome Carson and his family to the Saginaw Spirit.”
The St. Mary’s, Ont. native spent the 2022-2023 regular season with the Huron Perth Lakers U16 AAA program before joining the Stratford Warriors for a run to the Sutherland Cup Finals. His 40-point regular season (20-20-40) saw team-best marks in goals and points for the Lakers.
“I am very excited to be signing with such a reputable franchise in a great city with passionate fans,” said Harmer. “I have heard so many good things from current and former players about playing in Saginaw and can’t wait to get started.”
The 5-foot-9, 161lbs. centerman will wear #13 for the Spirit. With Harmer’s signing, Saginaw has received commitment from each of its first three draft picks in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.
