Drafted by the Blackhawks in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Slaggert is in his first pro season in the Blackhawks organization. In three games with the Rockford IceHogs thus far, he has collected two assists.

After his senior year with Notre Dame (NCAA) was done last season, Slaggert got into 16 games with the Blackhawks, putting up four points. In four seasons with the Fighting Irish, he scored 47 goals and added 45 assists for 92 points in 136 games.

With Slaggert getting extended, the Blackhawks clearly value him and see him as part of their future. While he may not project as a top of the lineup player, Slaggert has all of the tools needed to be a solid middle six contributor and should benefit from his time in Rockford this year.
