The Colorado Avalanche have recalled forward Chris Wagner from the Colorado Eagles and sent forward Calum Ritchie back to the OHL, the team announced Wednesday.
In his third season with the Avs organization, Wagner has seen time with both the Avalanche and the Colorado Eagles this season. Although he has yet to register a point, Wagner has seen two games in the NHL and one in the AHL.
Drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Draft, Wagner has registered 38 goals and 27 assists for 65 points in 375 career NHL regular season games.
Ritchie, a product of Brampton, Ont., has been returned to the Oshawa Generals after making the Avalanche out of training camp and scoring one goal in seven games. A 2023 first round pick of the Avalanche, Ritchie had 28 goals and 80 points in 50 games with the Generals last year.
With Oshawa being one of the favourites to go on a deep playoff run, getting Ritchie back is a huge boost for the team. Ritchie showcased his skills while with Colorado and is a big part of the Avalanche’s future.
