Hockey Canada announced Friday that Barrie Colts forward Hunter Haight has been added to the National Junior Team Development Camp. He replaces Zach Dean (Gatineau Olympiques) at the event, who is unable to participate due to injury.
Haight was recently selected by the Minnesota Wild in the second round (47th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. He attended Development Camp with the Wild this past week. The 18-year-old from Strathroy, Ont. comes off a 41-point (22-19–41) rookie season with Barrie after being the ninth overall selection of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.
Haight joins 16 other OHL players in Calgary at the camp that gets underway on Saturday, July 23rd.
