The Canadian Hockey League announced Thursday that three OHL matchups are included on the CHL ON TSN TV broadcast schedule for the remainder of the 2022-23 regular season. The Kitchener Rangers, Oshawa Generals, Guelph Storm, Peterborough Petes, London Knights and Sarnia Sting will all be on display from coast-to-coast. Read more

18 OHL players competing in 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship:
World Junior Hockey Championship action began on Boxing Day, with 18 OHL players competing in this year’s international showcase. OHL players are competing for eight different countries in Halifax, N.S. and Moncton, N.B. as the tournament runs from December 26 through January 5. Read more
Spirit’s Sapovaliv signs with Golden Knights:
The Vegas Golden Knights have signed forward Matyas Sapovaliv to a three-year, entry-level contract. The Golden Knights selected Sapovaliv with their first pick (48th overall) in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Read more
Firebirds’ Lombardi signs with Red Wings:
The Detroit Red Wings have signed center Amadeus Lombardi to a three-year entry-level contract. The Red Wings selected Lombardi in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Read more

The Windsor Spitfires honoured long-time radio play-by-play voice Steve Bell prior to puck drop on Wednesday night. Known by many around Windsor as “Beller,” Bell has called Spitfires games for 40 years, continuing to provide the call on AM 800 CKLW. Read more

Trey Matthews to call Otters’ second MLK Day Game:
After the Erie Otters hosted their first-ever Martin Luther King Jr. Day Game on January 17, 2022, the new year will bring an even bigger celebration than ever before. Trey Matthews, a Graduate student at Arizona State University, will become the ‘Voice of the Otters’ during the team’s second Martin Luther King Jr. Day game. The Otters will also take the ice for pregame in a jersey inspired by Black history and culture. Read more

Clarke named AHL Player of the Week:
Ottawa 67’s alumnus Graeme Clarke is the AHL Player of the Week. The 21-year-old tallied four goals and two assists in a pair of road wins for the Utica Devils, top affiliate of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. Clarke’s 23 points (10-13–23) in 26 games this season lead Utica scoring. The Ottawa, Ont. product recorded 76 points (46-30–76) over a 134-game OHL regular season career. He was selected by New Jersey in the third round (80th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft.
Carroll called-up to AHL, scores first goal:
Peterborough Petes graduate Joe Carroll scored his first career AHL goal on Boxing Day. After starting the season with 16 points (9-7–16) in 19 games for the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears, Carroll was called-up to the Belleville Senators where he scored in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Marlies on Dec. 26th. Carroll played four seasons in the OHL from 2017-22, winning a Western Conference title with the Soo Greyhounds in his rookie campaign. He recorded 52 points (25-27–52) in 55 games as an overager with the Peterborough Petes in 2021-22.
Petes grad Emmett Sproule commits to UNB:
The UNB REDS men’s hockey team is adding Peterborough Petes forward Emmett Sproule to their roster.The 21-year-old has signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent and has joined the REDS for the remainder of the 2022-23 Atlantic University Sport season and beyond. Read more
Wolves graduate Liam Ross commits to Toronto Metropolitan University:
Toronto Metropolitan University Bold’s men’s hockey program has announced that Sudbury Wolves graduate Liam Ross has signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent and has joined the Bold for the remainder of the 2022-23 season and beyond. The six-foot-two, 203 lbs. defenceman spent four seasons with the Wolves. The Markham, Ont. native recorded 79 points scoring 24 goals and 55 assists (24-55-79) in 249 games over his OHL tenure. Spitfires grad Daniel D’Amico commits to TMU:
Toronto Metropolitan University Bold’s men’s hockey program has announced that Windsor Spitfires graduate Daniel D’Amico has signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent and has joined the Bold for the remainder of the 2022-23 season and beyond. D’Amico played four seasons with the Spitfires, helping them reach the OHL Championship Series last season. The Caledon, Ont. native recorded 173 points scoring 88 goals and 85 assists (88-85-173) in 254 games over his OHL tenure. Read more
Felhaber and Santos named to ECHL All-Star Game:
OHL graduates Tye Felhaber and Mathew Santos are being recognized for standout seasons as both have been named to rosters for the 2023 ECHL All-Star Classic set to take place on January 16, 2023 in Norfolk, Virginia. The 24-year-old Felhaber has seven goals, 21 assists and 28 points in 25 games for the Fort Wayne Komets. Felhaber spent five seasons in the OHL, recording 285 points (145-140-285) in 311 games played as he helped the Ottawa 67’s to an Eastern Conference title in 2019. Santos, 27, has posted 10 goals, 14 assists and 24 points in 22 games played for the Maine Mariners this season. He spent four seasons in the OHL, recording 127 points (53-74-127) in 251 games played.
Seven OHL graduates represent Canada at Spengler Cup Tournament:
A total of seven OHL alumni competed for Canada in the 2022 Spengler Cup that started on Boxing Day in Davos, Switzerland. Canada was eliminated on Thursday following a 3-0 loss to Orebro of the Swedish Elite League. Read more
