Ethan Weir commits to Frontenacs – Ontario Hockey League

Kingston, Ontario – The Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of forward Ethan Weir to a Standard Player Agreement. Ethan was selected by the Frontenacs in the second round, 42nd overall during the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.

“Ethan brings forth a high-end skill set. He has been a highly touted prospect for a couple of seasons, and we are excited to have him join our team.” said GM Kory Cooper. “We are looking forward to his development and we know he will be an impactful player for us during his OHL career.”

The 6-foot, 185lbs. London, Ont. native spent the 2022-23 season as the captain of his hometown London Jr Knights and had an impressive season. He scored 21 goals and added 44 assists for 65 points in 34 regular season games. His postseason numbers were equally impressive scoring six goals and eight assists in 13 playoff games. He also played five games with the Komoka Kings of the GOJHL, scoring two goals while adding an assist.

“It’s definitely a dream come true. All my family and friends were with me to celebrate.” said Weir. “I’m looking forward to my time in Kingston.”

Weir will be joining his teammates this fall at the Kingston Frontenacs 2023 training camp.
