Goalies
Dan Vladar, CGY at VAN (11% rostered)
The Flames carry some momentum into this game even though they’re playing the second game of a back-to-back with travel. Vladar has been quite reliable for most of the season, though note after their four-game winning streak to start the season, the Flames have not been able to win consecutive games.
What makes Vladar a possible streaming option is the Canucks’ banged-up lineup. Brock Boeser is not expected to play, J.T. Miller might be nursing an injury with the way his production has dipped, though Elias Pettersson has been improving. This should be a close match though the Flames are undoubtedly the underdog.
Arturs Silovs, VAN vs. CGY (5% rostered)
With Silovs coming in relief in a 7-3 loss against Edmonton Saturday, his first action in over a week, there’s a chance he draws the start against Calgary. Kevin Lankinen is carrying a huge workload, more than he’s ever carried before, and with four games this week, the Canucks might be thinking about giving him a breather.
Silovs was assigned to the AHL over the weekend to get in some action, and after earning a win was called right back up. The Canucks want him to stay fresh after a very subpar start to the season (.808 SP) after playing the playoff hero last season. If Silovs does start, he’s a risky but viable option. The Canucks will be looking to bounce back against a division rival after a big loss, and the Flames are playing the second half of a back-to-back.
Elvis Merzlikins, CLB at SEA (11% rostered)
You’re hoping the Jackets buck the trend here. They’ve lost five straight, including four straight on the road. Seattle will be the last stop on their five-game road trip, and Dean Evason will surely push for them to earn a win before they head home. The history is short between the two teams, but note the Kraken have never lost in regulation to the Jackets, going 4-0-2.
It’s a risky start for Elvis Merzlikins, for sure, but the Jackets’ losing streak has to end at some point.
