The Calgary Flames have signed free-agent forward Clark Bishop and goaltender Oscar Dansk to one-year, two-way contracts; defenseman Dennis Gilbert to a two-year, one-way contract; and defenseman Nicolas Meloche to a one-year, one-way contract.
Bishop played 35 games for the AHL’s Belleville Senators in 2021-22, recording six goals and six assists for 12 points. He also posted one assist in nine NHL games with Ottawa.
In 244 AHL games over six seasons with Belleville and Charlotte, Bishop has compiled 26 goals and 50 assists for 76 points. He has also notched four goals and one assist in 26 postseason games, winning a Calder Cup title with Charlotte in 2019.
A fifth-round selection by Carolina in the 2014 NHL Draft, Bishop has one goal and seven assists in 47 career NHL contests with the Hurricanes and Senators.
Dansk returns to North America after spending the 2021-22 season with Moscow Spartak (KHL).
Dansk has played 127 games in the AHL with Henderson, Chicago and Springfield, posting a record of 71-34-17 with a 2.71 goals-against average, a .906 save percentage and seven shutouts. Dansk helped Chicago to the Calder Cup Finals in 2019, and is 10-11 (2.53, .909) in 21 career postseason appearances in the AHL.
A second-round pick by Columbus in the 2012 NHL Draft, Dansk is 4-1-0 with a 3.10 GAA, a .906 save percentage and one shutout in six career NHL contests, all with Vegas.
Gilbert spent the 2021-22 season with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, notching six goals and 17 assists for 23 points.
In 162 AHL games over four pro seasons with Colorado and Rockford, Gilbert has recorded 13 goals and 39 assists for 52 points.
The third-round choice by Chicago in the 2015 NHL Draft has skated in 25 NHL games with Chicago and Colorado, totaling one goal and two assists.
Meloche played 50 games in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks last season, tallying two goals and five assists. He also had one goal in 10 AHL contests with the San Jose Barracuda.
Over five pro seasons, Meloche has played 193 AHL games with San Jose, Colorado and San Antonio, registering 12 goals and 43 assists for 55 points.
Meloche was a second-round choice by Colorado in the 2015 NHL Draft, and has two goals and six assists in 57 career NHL games, all with the Sharks.
