During the 2023 NHL off-season, the Philadelphia Flyers dealt Ivan Provorov to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a three-team trade with the Los Angeles Kings. Now, Provorov is already creating some buzz in the rumor mill again.

According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the Utah Hockey Club has expressed interest in Provorov. This is not particularly surprising, as defenders Sean Durzi and John Marino are both out with long-term injuries.
LeBrun also noted that Provorov is “going to be in high demand” once the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline gets closer. However, LeBrun also said that he believes the Blue Jackets are not in any rush to trade Provorov yet.
When noting that the Blue Jackets are rebuilding and Provorov is in the final season of his contract, he should be an incredibly popular rental target this year. Utah should continue to remain in the mix with their current situation, while The Fourth Period reported that multiple teams are also expressing interest in Provorov.
In 532 games over seven seasons with the Flyers, Provorov had 70 goals, 251 points, 693 hits, and a minus-37 rating.
